Casting Call
City Impro are looking for people to be part of our short-form improvised comedy show going to this year’s Brighton Fringe.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking to put together a cast for a 5 show run in late May. We’re after people who:
- Enjoy playing short-form games and being part of a high energy and fast paced show.
- Want to work as part of a team to create a fun and enjoyable show for the audience, whilst supporting each other on stage.
- Like focusing on the comedic side of improv and making an audience laugh.
We ask that you are able to make at least 3 of the shows and at least 4 of the rehearsal dates (see below). The audition will be in the form of a workshop where we will play lots of games, have lots of fun and hopefully make each other laugh. Through rehearsals we’ll find games that are fun to play and suit the style of the members of the team.
We’re looking for a wide variety of performers from all different backgrounds and with a variety of experiences. Unfortunately the Quadrant Pub is not a wheelchair accessible venue.
What we can offer you:
You’ll get to be part of a show that will be lots of fun and be part of the largest arts festival in England. We’ll provide rehearsal space and coaching over the next few months to hone the show and we’ll also create a supportive environment to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.
This is an unpaid performance opportunity and ask that you cover your own costs in travelling to shows and rehearsals. If ticket sales cover costs for the show, we aim to distribute profits amongst the cast. There is the possibility that we’ll be able to provide some accommodation in Brighton over the two weekends (to be confirmed nearer the time).
Schedule:
